On the purpose of encouraging self-funded international students to study hard and participate in activities actively, as well as cultivating outstanding self-funded international students with good academic performance, good behavior, knowledge of China and love for China, this Measures are formulated on the basis of the rules of Measures of China Three Gorges University for Student Scholarship Evaluation and Rewards and Measures of China Three Gorges University for the Evaluation of Students’ Comprehensive Quality, and the actual situation of College Hydraulic and Environment Engineering China Three Gorges University.
Article One Eligible Applicants
The eligible applicants of the Scholarship Evaluation include all the self-funded international students who have registered in the College Hydraulic and Environment Engineering of China Three Gorges University.
Article Two Organization for Scholarship Evaluation
A Leading Group for International Student Scholarship Evaluation at College level will be established.
Group Leader: The dean of Hydraulic and Environment Engineering College;
Members:Vice dean and student counselor or headmaster
Article Three Categories, proportion and amount of Scholarship
Scholarships and grants are divided into three categories: Freshman Scholarships, Grants Scholarship, and Academic Scholarships.
Freshman Scholarships: 15,000 RMB per person per year (including Hubei Province Scholarships). All freshmen who register at the school can get this scholarship in their first academic year.
Grants Scholarship: 6,000 RMB per person per year. Starting from the second academic year, all international undergraduate students who come to study in China and do not violate school regulations can receive the grant.
Academic Scholarships: 10,000 RMB per person per year. In principle, it rewards international undergraduate students whose academic performance ranks in the top 50% (including 50%) in the previous academic year.
Article Four Students with one of following situations in the academic year are disqualified for Scholarship Evaluation:
1. Exam cheater or Students who have been punished for violation Chinese laws or university regulations, or are still in detention.
2. Students who have provided any fake documents in the scholarship Evaluation;
3. Students who have repeated the academic year, or who went up to the current grade on probation;
4. Students who fail to pay tuition fee, accommodation fee or any other fees without proper reasons;
5. Students who fail to go through the formalities for leave during the normal study period or return to China or leave the school without permission;
6. Other misconduct or improper words and deeds have been complained about and verified
Article Five Process of Scholarship Evaluation
1. The International Student Scholarship will be evaluated every academic year during September to November, following the following process under the principle of “fairness, openness and impartiality”.
2. Student makes a self-evaluation according to the Evaluation Measures, and then submit the evaluation result to the class scholarship evaluation committee. The college leading group for International Student Scholarship Evaluation should review the results submitted and confirm the name list of Scholarship.
3. The evaluation results will be post on the college website for no less than 3 days. If there is no objection, the College will issue a document to confirm the results.
Article Six Award and Scholarship Granting
Freshman Scholarship (including Provincial Scholarship) : The college shall submit the application letter of tuition deduction to the Financial department to offset the first-year tuition of undergraduate students.
Grant Scholarship: The college shall submit the application letter of tuition deduction for international students to the Financial Department , and deduct part of the tuition for undergraduate students.
Academic scholarship: issued directly to student bank card
Article Seven Others
This rules shall come into force from September 1st, 2024. In case of any conflict between the documents previously formulated by the College and these Rules, these Rules shall be followed, and the Teaching Management Office of Graduate Students and International Students shall be responsible for interpretation.
